REIGN

"Since Mary, Queen of Scotland, was a child the English have wanted her country and her crown. She is sent to France to wed its next king, to save herself and her people - a bond that should protect her, but there are forces that conspire, forces of darkness, forces of the heart. Long may she reign."

Love is the most dangerous subject
That my readers, is the opening narration of my new favorite series, REIGN :)

Reign tells the life story of Mary, Queen of Scotts. Its part history part fictitious. I actually went and read up on her and everything she has been through. One tough cookie I tell you. What history taught me though is, *spoiler alert* that things doesn't end well for Mary. Alas, this still makes for a brilliant series.

Mary is played by Australian born actress Adelaide Kane. I love this chick. Everything she does is with great poise. I don't think they could've chosen a better Mary.

The series follows her love interest for both Francis (Future King of France) and his bastard brother (King Henry II son with his mistress), her struggles with Queen Catherine de Medici and of course all the politics surrounding the French court. Her four handmaidends, Kenna, Lola, Alee and Greer is there to support her and find husbands for themselves. But things go horribly wrong for some of them.

Aaah the beautiful costumes, the traditions, the scenery and the sex haha. This series is Downton Abbey meets Twilight. What more can a gushing girl ask for heehee. Not to mention the awesome music. Old English with modern tunes. :)

Nonetheless, I think this series is awesome, and can't wait to see how they unravel everything towards the end!

No More Moyes

Manchester United finally gave former Everton Manager, David Moyes thee boot!

After the horrendous season United had, Moyes is finally out. Twitter is a smorgasbord of mixed emotions and opinions not to mention angered fans that feel this is long overdue. The club however had this to say..

I think the Everton 2-0 defeat over the club was the last straw. Can't say we didn't see this coming though. The Glazier family (Owners of United) finally ended Moyes' reign after only 11 months into his 4year contract.

You can say the reasons were that United failed to land in the top 4 in order to qualify for UEFA and is currently listed 7th on the English Premier League. For a number one club that is kind of sad.

Ye ye, now you can go on and bitch about how I'm Arsenal and don't have the right to say anything.. Well the fact is Arsenal is consistent year after year. And the ginormous dip United took is humiliating.

I would'nt be surprised if Mourhino is next lool. 6 defeats in a row. Poor Chelskey.

Anyhoo, said to the fill the boots of Moyes is former United Midfielder Ryan Giggs. That is just until the season is done. Unless United board decides otherwise. Furthermore the rumor mill is suggesting that either Jurgen Klopp or Louis van Gaal is one of the front runners. One can only speculate.

I still say give the guy another year. Surely there must have been a reason why Moyes was hand picked by Sir Alex?? He obviously seen something in the bloke we and the rest of the football world didn't?

Manchester's future seems bleak. Lets hope the next manager lasts longer than a year :)

Just for laughs :P

Shit just got real 2.1 - DA COUNCIL MAKES BAD HISTORY IN PAARL

For the first time in the history of the Christian Religion, DA Council staged a lock up barring several churches from having their early morning Easter Sunday Graveyard Service to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Cars lining Lustigan drive and Jan Van Riebeek road to the gates of the cemetery had to turn back because the gates were locked and as usual Gesie Van Deventer (Drakenstein Mayor) were no where to be found. I bet she was relaxing on some or other resort not giving a rats ass about her town folk....

Disappointed church goers voiced their frustration and sad disappointment with the DA councils ignorance and arrogance. This is a clear indication that present DA council DOES NOT CARE about communities and its traditions EAST of the Bergriver.

The security guards changed shift but were not prepared to open the gates. Traditionally, the cemetery is open on Sundays for families/visitors to pay their respects and to visit the graves of their loved ones. The situation on Sunday was a shocker and a FIRST for Paarl. No explanation or apology from the DA council can rectify what happened to Christians on Sunday.

What should have been the highlight of the Easter Weekend was turned into bitter disappointment. I think its quite sad that the minority ignore the traditions of the majority without prior consultation or notification.

SHAME ON YOU GESINA VAN DEVENTER AND THE DA!!!!!!!!!!

GUNNER OF THE WEEK

What a journey he had. Not to mention his awesome comeback.

Yep, you guessed it, my Gunner of the Week is Aaron James Ramsey.

Born December 26, 1990 (23 years old...yeah you'd think that I'd get over the youngness already lol but I cant haha) Ramsey started playing for Cardiff City's youth team for 8 years. After which he made a total of 22 appearances for their senior Team.

Arsenal went on to sign this youngster in 2008. Ramsey was/is fierce and his moves quick-fast on the pitch. Unknowing of what would happen next. In 2010 playing against Stoke, Ramsey suffered a double leg break. Threatening his young career. I was still in tears that day. His leg hung in the air like a piece of raw meat. I was really sad for him. It was indeed awesome to see how the fans and everyone backed him in his recovery, praying for his return.

In 2011 he returned proving to us all that he is brilliant, captaining the Welsh team. Normally people don't come back after such a huge injury. Also, its really amazing to see him in full physical form reminding all of us that he is a key player in the 2013/2014 season.

I've noticed that many of the players in the squad used to play rugby. Which doesn't surprise me. Ramsey used to be a Winger in school, and was it not for Cardiff snatching him, the Rugby League would have. I think he has a brilliant brain for football. His pace and the ability to quickly calculate a pass is out of this world. Even though you can see he struggles a bit on the physical side.

I am still happy that he had such a great recovery! Welcome back and prove all the wenches wrong :)

Home Made Scrub :)

Hey there

Another post brought to you by Carmy's :)

I thought I'd share this with all of you, seeing that everyone asks me how to make it.

Behold, my Home Made Sugar Exfoliation Scrub. Used for hands and feet.

All you need is:

1 x Plastic Container (Old Shzen foot soak container)
1 x 50ml Tissue Oil (I used Avon/Justine R50.00)
1 x standard cup of Brown Sugar (Because its cheaper)

And voila.

Not only does the scrub remove all the dead skin-cells. But it leaves your hands feeling soft and smooth for weeks on end. This is really wallet friendly and I love the way it makes my hands feel. Its going to be great in winter when our hand are normally drier than ever!

Hope you like it

GUNNER OF THE WEEK

Boy does he have big shoes to fill. But I think he just might be it!!

After the great giants, David Seaman and Jens Lehmann, I thought it would be impossible to get another good goalie. Wojciech Szczęsny is busy proving us all wrong. And therefore this Polish fella is my Gunner of the Week!

*falls off chair* Born in 1990!! Wooot? We definitely like em young loool. Szczęsny started his career by playing for Warsaw at the mere age of 15. In 2006 he joined the Arsenal youth set-up where he then went on to play on the reserve team for the 2008/2009 season. Unfortunately he had an accident where both forearms were fractured while lifting heavy weights. He had to miss 5 months of footie. He eventually made his first team debut playing against West Bromwich Albion. Szczęsny had a clean sheet for that game.

Through seasons 2010-2013 he had quite a rocky few games. Really making us question his ability as a keeper. But he seems to get up every single time after a backlash and Wenger always benching him lol. Our 2013/2014 season however speaks volumes :)

"Wojciech has the genes of his dad. He has something that you cannot give to people, for technical work. He has that presence." - Arsene Wenger

Random fact:  He is the son of former Polish international goalkeeper Maciej Szczesny, who once hit the headlines for punching Roberto Mancini in the face.

Now there you have it!

House of Cards

I'm getting goosebumps as I type this. Yes, that is how spine chilling this series is. Its deep, dark and yet very intriguing. A Netflix original.

House of Cards circles around Frank Underwood (played by the brilliant Mr Kevin Spacey) and his climb up the political food chain in Washington. He is supported by his oh so lovely yet dangerous wife, Claire Underwood (played by Miss Robin Wright - no more Penn hehe). Their relationship first struck me as odd and kind of pissed me off but I understand now that they compliment one another. Regardless of their secrets and faults. They are the perfect team to take down the administration that they help build. Vengeful don't you think? It is of no surprise that this is a remake of the UK series with the same name, and that Kevin Spacey is an executive producer. Deadly!! hehe

I can't describe just how brilliant this series is. Because I suppose it will mean different things to many different people. Some will enjoy it solely for the political parts, where as others will find its sexual tendencies more appealing. However what makes House of Cards so darn good is that fact that they do the unthinkable. Just when you're getting used to one scenario, BAM! They mind fuck you once again loool. I actually have to limit myself to an episode a week. Otherwise I'll finish it all in one go LOOOL

OFF WITH THEIR DICKS!

I'm sitting here extremely angry and pissed off at out justice system!! Read an article, Beheaded body of a baby found . Who the fuck does that!!!

How long is it going to take before this government does something drastic to pedophiles, child molesters and child murders. How many more child rapes must there be? I'm tired of reading about it the papers when they don't have any solutions. Then there's never a suspect and the cases are unsolved. Why can't government take a strong approach and make examples of the people who does get caught?

Don't get me started on the people who protect these monsters. They're taking the innocence of these children. I feel that child rapists and molester's penises MUST be cut off!!! Or if you want to be more civil, LIFE sentences be given to those who participate in these vial acts. No parole or shortened sentences because of that "good behaviour" crap. I feel its only fair!!! They take something from the children, so something should be taken from them!!! They must be stripped of their humanity!!

I don't feel sorry for these people at all! They should be treated with total and utter disrespect and should not even live amongst normal people. Fuck knows how they live with themselves, but I truly hope they burn in hell!!

GUNNER OF THE WEEK

This is an absolute biased post because he is my absolute favorite!!!

He is a brilliant leftie and his technique is one of a kind. His swift venomous attacks makes him a favorite amongst many. He is none other than...

Prince Poldi :D
Lukas Josef Podolski.

Born June 1985 in Poland, Lukas made his debut in 1995 playing for FC Kohln. He then reached first team status in 2003 with a staggering 81 appearances. In 2008 he joined Bayern Munich where he took them to victory wining 2 trophies in that season.

In 2012 he joined Arsenal scoring his first goal on 2 September 2012, in the 2-0 win against Liverpool at Anfield (aah the good days lol).  Apart from being a fierce attacker and superb scorer, Podolski is great at assisting and played pivotal parts assisting to Carzola and Wallcot during the 2012/2013 season.

From 2004 up until now, Prince Poldi has been playing for Germany and recently scored thee fastest goal in football history in their country when they played Equador in May 2014. He is undoubtedly the 5th highest scorer in German history. His brilliant volley in the AFC vs Montpellier game was recorded as goal of the season. This proves that he is indeed a creative player and some even call him a "finisher".

I'm not sure what his future plans are, but I really hope that he will be staying at the Armoury and that we will be seeing more of him on the pitch :)

Ooh to be, oooh to be, ooo to be a Gooner!!!

47 Ronin

Where do I start!! Wowee oh how I've longed for something this good :) After watching it thrice this weekend and in 3D when it premiered. I could not help myself but to gush over it!

This is like real life Anime hehe. Or at least what the good Anime used to be like.

There's the brilliant formula:
* Two forbidden lovers
* The quest of vengeance
* A country being taken over by a Tyrant
* Did I mention the two forbidden lovers fighting all odds to be together lol
Greatness!!

*Spoiler Alert*

Set in the majestic backdrop of Japan, during the Shogun era, after being deceived by witchcraft, 47 Samurai set out to revenge the death of their Master. Kai, an outcast, seeking acceptance from the Ronin, (Master-less Samurai) is determined to help them for his dear love, Mika is held against her will by the enemy, Lord Kira. They encounter many mythical creatures and savage beasts while doing so. In the end good always triumphs over evil and Lord Kira is defeated. Unfortunately they went against the Shogun, and is being punished by performing Seppuku

What makes this movie even greater is the fact that it is based on actual events in Japanese History. Go read Way of the Bushido 47-Ronin

This movie has the right amount of drama, action, suspense, romance and of course comedy :) Takes me back to the days of Rourouni Kenshin, Samurai Champloo, Ninja Scroll etc. Epicness I tell you!!!

So what are you waiting for! Go see it!!
