GUNNER OF THE WEEK

I'm drooling as I write this LOL

My favourite Gunner of the week is none other than Alex Mark David Oxlade-Chamberlain :) I think we should add a Sir to it loool His name sounds so Royal teehee Then again, for his age (21) I think he can be considered as the one of the "royals" amongst his footie peers.

Alex was born in August 1993, Portsmouth England where he made his first soccer debut at the age of 7. He then went on in 2010 to play for the Southampton first team at the mere age of 16. Making him the second youngest (Theo Wallcot being the first) to play for the team. In August of 2011, Alex signed with Arsenal and sadly made his debut on Saturday, 28 August 2011 (The day I shall never forget) in that game against United. (That game we shall not speak of)

By the end of the 2011 Season, Chambo was nominated for the Young Player of the Year award. Unfortunately he lost out to Kyle Walker (Spurs).

Chambo comes from a line of footie pros. Namely his dad Mark Chamberlain who played for Portsmouth, (he is the current coach) His dad also earned National Colours, playing for England. Then there's his uncle, Neville Chamberlain, who played in many teams, Stoke being one of them, and he also went on to play for the English team as well. So as you can see, Mr Ox-Chambo has great footie blood within him!!

Did you know that Alex used to play rugby back in college. Full back and scrum half. But I suppose its obvious. He is very athletic and a really strong player. Hence the nickname, THE OX because of his physical tenacity and powerful playing style. He goes by Chambo as well. As in Rambo! hehe As you can see, he is quite the hottie too. Look at those guns :DDDDD

I love this kid and this is just one more reason why I'm proud to be a Gooner!!
